Personal Log, Stardate 40190.01

Posted on 30 Jul 2019 @ 5:30pm by Lieutenant JG Rozhal Pril

I arrived at the linguistics lab this morning to find Professor Harjin almost jumping around in excitement, which was a little surreal. Kejata pulled me over to look at a sample box on a table in the corner. Inside the box was a small shard of pot, clearly decorated despite its obvious age. Kejata looked at me expectantly. I looked at the pot a little closer. The markings were similar, but not quite the same as those found at the temple complex. They appeared less pictorial, and more symbolic. Professor Harjin then revealed that evidence of a later settlement had been discovered on the edge of the site, and the pot in front of me had been dated to between 2550 and 2700 years ago. This is the missing link! Finally, we might have hard evidence to prove some of the connections made between the temple glyphs and early Hayari.
