The disguised Starfleet officers hide, just off the Throne Room. Lieutenant Huxley looks to Commander Krelossi. “Now what, sir?” he mutters.

The Saurian stands. “We start stunning,” he says as he steps out of cover and opens fire.

“Shit.” Huxley follows suit, spraying the room with ineffective fire. Chaos erupts and the gun battle plays out. Carmen starts moving towards the fight. “Carmen, back!” Huxley continues to engage targets, and gets a look at a cluster in the corner. “Hey, does that look like Harper to anyone else?” So much else is similar here, maybe we’re friends here, too. The engineer takes cover at the entryway. “Hey, Joe! HARPER!” Harper and his crew intensify their fire in the direction Huxley is hiding. “HARPER! Hold fire!”

The mirror version of Moi’ra shouts over the din. “HE CAPTAINS THE BOSTON! SHOOT HIM!”

“Mav, it’s Goose!” I can reach him. We don’t have to shoot each other.

Zekru shouts at Huxley from behind cover. “JUST SHOOT HIM!”

Taking a moment to reply to George, Harper yells, “I don’t know who you are!”

Huxley groans. Sorry about this, old friend. The engineer leans around the corner, firing as he goes. George recognizes Hastur and hesitates for a moment. A belch of flame emits from the weapon in Hastur’s hands. Pain rips through George, as he slams on the deck. He tries to move his legs, but they don’t respond. Weakly, he tries to move his arms. Only his right arm moves. What the hell? Why is it so hard to breathe? He feels hands grab him, and the ceiling moves. How strange.

A brief sensation of pain crosses his face. George can hear Moi’ra from far away, muffled. “Wake up! WAKE UP!”

Another voice chimes in. It’s hard to tell who. “What…what it is happened?”

“Commander, Huxley is down! We’re checking on him now!”

“He got stunned! And someone needs to disable V'Lan's suit before her nanites devour us all…oh, he’s not stunned. OH MY GOD, HE’S BEEN SHOT!”

In confusion, Huxley ponders what’s going on. Who’s been shot? I can’t hear very well, where is everyone? I can’t see…so tired…comfortable…must sleep…

“Tired are we, George?”

Huxley opens his eyes, immediately blinded by an intense light. “Elaine…Elaine Burns, is that you?”

She smiles as she looks at him. “Well, duh, who else did you think would be here?”

Sitting up, he stares at her in confusion. “But…you were on the Horatio…it was destroyed…you’re dead…”

Elaine rolls her eyes. “Boy, you really do have a keen sense of the obvious, don’t you.”

George stands and looks around. Looking at his body, he can see the blood stained holes from Mirror Hastur’s projectiles: two in his gut, one on his arm, and another in his chest. “Then I’m…I’m…”
