Personal Log Stardate 41480.7
Posted on 25 Jun 2021 @ 1:48pm by Lieutenant JG Joseph Harper
Upon entering the dark quarters Joe called for lights as he begun to pull his uniform off. He set the red shirt on the bed and moved to sit at his desk with a heavy sigh. Thor trotted over to the human and sat down looking up at Joe clearly wanting attention. As the lieutenant turned to give the dog a scritch on the head he glanced up.
"Computer...open a comm line with Federation Attache T'Pora Rush, please." Joe glanced back down at Thor as he heard the series of chirps once the computer confirmed his request. Thor barked at the personal computer and Joe glanced at it just in time to see T'Pora's small yet fit figure appear. The half human, half vulcan woman smiled upon seeing Joe.
"Hey JJ! I was actually thinking about calling you but it seems you beat me." She laughed at that and shifted in her lounge chair slightly. A small green epohh that sat perched on her shoulder appeared to be fast asleep.
Joe chuckled and leaned back in his chair. "Hey Peaches..." He notices the epohh on T'Pora's shoulder and smirks. "I see Loki has found his favorite spot eh?" T'Pora gently poked the epohh's little nose with a smile.
She looked back at Joe."Oh yes, he's grown quite fond of it. So how's life out in the frontier?"
The lieutenant sighed softly, his mind wandered as he thought about the first landing on the uninhabited planet they were orbiting. If it wasn't for the security breach that ruined the moment, the away team would've had more time.
"It's...never a dull moment out here. I got to be on an away team that conducted first landing on a recently discovered M-class planet." He smirks as he watches Thor moved to claim his territory on the bed.
T'Pora sighed and smiled. "Doing what Starfleet does best, seeking out new life and new worlds. I can't wait to get back out there. Speaking of that...I'm headed to Vulcan for a few weeks."
"Really? When do you head out?" Joe stretched his arms and glanced at Thor before giving T'Pora his attention again.
"Tomorrow morning, mother is letting me see the embassy and potentially work with her for a bit. This also gives me the chance to visit some family that I have not seen in a while." She sits up and the epohh suddenly hops onto T'Pora's lap. Joe nodded slowly and sighed heavily, T'Pora perked a vulcan like eyebrow. "You look exhausted."
The human chuckled softly "Yeah...you know every day we're out here I keep thinking about Earth. It's been too long since my last visit."
T'Pora sighed. "Almost three years if I recall...I admit I keep thinking about your return."
As he leaned forward on the desk he smiled. "We got one hell of a wedding ahead of us. I hope your ready for the after party."
The half human, half vulcan woman laughed. "Believe me, Joseph, I am. Your grandmother knows how to plan those things. I just hope the Boston crew is ready for what's about to hit them." She smirked before leaning back in the lounge chair. Joe chuckled as he glanced at the time and sighed.
He then looked at T'Pora with a smile. "Well...I should go. Got an early shift tomorrow, call me or send a message once you reach Vulcan yeah?"
T'Pora nodded. "I will, and you better stay safe out there flyboy."
The human smirked. "I can't promise that but I'll do my best. Hopefully we'll reach Earth before the end of the year."
"So do I, otherwise I'll start getting impatient by then." T'Pora laughed, then waved goodbye before ending the call. Joe sighed and stood up, he stretched his back and glanced out the window of his quarters. He then decided to start preparing himself for bed, thus ending the log.
