| Personal History | Joseph Jonathan Harper, preferably Joe Harper, was born on January 21st, 2339. He was born and raised in the Andorian capital, Laikan, and studied at home until the age of 18. Both of his parents were Starfleet Officers. Joe’s mother, Jodi Harper, was the first officer on an Excelsior class. His father, Evan Harper, was a Starfleet Liaison assigned to Andoria. At the age of six, Joe was informed that his mother, along with the crew, were killed by a ship crewed with Nausicaans in an ambush along the Federation/Cardassian border. This event caused Joe’s father to have a mental breakdown and eventually retire a few weeks later. During this time, Joe would often run away from home and get himself lost in the ice caves until his father tracked him down. After recovering from the loss, Joe’s father met and eventually married an Andorian named Vela Zh’zovek. Joe did most of his early education at home, being taught by both his step mother and his father. On the day of his 18th birthday, Joe went to Earth for the first time to attend Starfleet Academy. He attended for four years and graduated as an ensign in the summer of 2361. Five months into Joe’s assignment on the Merigold, he was assigned with an Engineering crew to assist a disabled Nausicaan ship. The team were ordered not to bring weapons, however Joe decided to hide a small type 1 phaser under his waistband. During the mission, Joe was caught and kicked off the ship by the Nausicaans. | |
