U'shala is an optimist for the alliance with the Federation as there is much to be gained for the advancement of her people. Despite her culture's previous reticence with joining the Federation, she has been working hard with others to make Nebri V's effort to join the Federation a reality.

She was tasked with helping to select a 'Giftbringer' from the Federation for the summit. She chose Ensign Pragann.
