Personal Log Stardate 40835.6

Joe is sitting in one of the lounge chairs in the center of his quarters with Thor sleeping on the carpet next to him.

"You know after hearing the Captain's performance in the Common got me thinking, it's been a while since I've played this." He picks up an old gold plated Tenor Saxophone that he pulled from his closet. After sliding the mouthpiece on he runs through a C Major scale that sounds rather reedy at first. Joe adjust's the mouthpiece a little then plays it again, this time with a deep and natural sound.

"Looks like I still got it." He stands up with the instrument in hand and walks towards the window looking out at the rogue comet. "Who woulda thought that there'd be life on something as amazing and deadly like a comet, let alone an atmosphere." He then leans against the glass and plays through another scale, this time an F Major. "I think out of all the traditions out there...christmas is my favorite time of the year. There's just somethin about it..."

"Setting foot on the comet was another reminder of why I signed onto Starfleet in the first place. Seeking new life, and exploring whatever the galaxy has in store."

Joe plays a mix of both E and A Flat Major's with more of a smooth jazzy sound. "I think I'm gonna take up the skipper's offer the next time he ends up playing." He runs through another scale and pauses.

"Computer, end log."
