*Sound of a bottle being opened, the hollow “pshh” echoing in the still and quiet quarters*
The last of the stash from the “good” ole Dr. Phlox research lab, appropriate enough to have now to celebrate my first personal log on the Boston and after my first mis-adventure aboard ship.
Of course, in hindsight, it was naïve of me to think that being a test subject would have stopped after being transferred here, though in reality it really was not too bad, just alpha testing a training sim made by Lt. Kilrai. Your bog standard shuttle crash scenario, only with giant worms, scorpions and Gorn all set in a desolate sandy desert. Of course I wasn’t the only one that had to go through the sim, I was joined by Lts J.G. Kilrai and Fox, Ensigns Carmen Duarte, Joe Harper and Chief Specialist Hastur.
We all started the sim together other than Hastur who modified the program and set an objective for us to find him and exfil all together at the end of the sim. We had to blast our way pass some giant worms on our way to an abandoned Federation outpost, and then we had to defeat a “monster”, graphics and sound effects being placeholders… guess Lt. Kilrai had to slap this together rather quickly. No joy with the console at the Federation Outpost we had to find an alternative and trying to get out of the sun we went towards a nearby canyon, which turned out to be full of Gorn. Luckily we found Hastur on a nearby ridge and spying some cables from the ridge we followed them to a Gorn signal station, which we had to secure from some Gorn guards. We sent the signal and made our way to the big Commo disk, which we had to kill some worms to clear the way to it, getting picked up by shuttle after we made it to the disk.
It was rather ho hum all told, straight forward but it was nice seeing clear sky after so much time spent on station and having to transfer straight away to the Boston without any opportunity to snag some leave…
*A pause, Kyr takes a deep pull from the bottle*
Well, whatever it takes to not be back there…the tests, the breaches and Dr. T’mok…there’s a Vulcan in the security department here…I still haven’t spoken directly to her, still uneasy around them without knowing their disposition…

*The computer bleeps, and another pause*
The security situation around Pirakta is deteriorating, the Boston’s crew just had a train “heist” to rescue Commander Jaya, like something out of a holonovel. Now we are getting ready to hunt down the Starfleet officer that is working with the rebels and I also hear that the Boston will be getting a new Assistant Chief of Security, so I will have a new boss to look forward to… but it comes with being a Starfleet officer, all the dangers and opportunities…I can’t wait.
