Personal Letters Log, Ensign K'Rosu, Incoming

Posted on 23 May 2021 @ 9:53pm by Ensign K'Rosu

My dear child,

I’m happy to hear you’re settling in well. I know just how busy it can get on a starship, and how hectic it can all seem when you’re new (Yeah I remember, I’m not that old!). I hope your Christmas celebration went well, and your superior appreciated the gift. I still remember the first Christmas you had on the Kyushu, and demanded the Captain try your milchreis! He remembers you, and asked me to send you his best. Well, he may have been trying to make me be more gentle, he dislocated his shoulder in parrises squares again.

I’m happy you got to work on the bridge, I still don’t like going up there myself. I imagine you’re like me, more happy in a lab than a big meeting, even if our labs are just a little different in their focus. But it’s one’s adaptability that shows their strength. I must admit, I did share a little of your Omi’s concerns with your chosen path of study, what with your past, but I’m sure you’ll continue to make us all as proud as you already have. Work’s never done, so I have to get back to the beds, LT. Jena’s glaring at me again. Looking forward to your next letter, and even more so the next time we see each other!

Love, Mom.
P.S. Security says they still have your old cell warm and ready, so behave! (A heart is drawn next, anatomically correct)

Dear Ros,

It’s good to hear from you! Tried the suggestion, it went over well at the restaurant! Things are quiet here with you so far away, but I appreciate the calls and letters. Rotijenji’s feeling much better, he’s back to making his daily stops after work at the labs, and gave a resounding thumbs up to that black pudding.

You’ll never guess who stopped by for some rouladen the other day, Officer Steiner! He’s getting some grey in his hair now, and likes to talk about how much easier it is with you being grown up and far away, but I caught him staring at your picture over the bar a few times, looking proud. Maybe you should write him? I know it could be awkward, but he really does care for you like one of his own. He’s always wanted, just as much as your mother and I, for you to do your best, even as he’d drag you out from jail to us.

I have a couple of my contacts’ information attached, if you’re ever in their area, feel free to drop my name and they’ll work to get you some more rak. Remember to sharpen your claws, clean your teeth, and don’t be ashamed of your blood, it makes you strong!

Love, Dad.
