Personal Log, Stardate 40443.1: First trip to The Common

Ship party in The Common last night- my first social engagement aboard the Boston. Most of the crew was polite and jovial. I made the acquaintance of several medical staff: Grenkat, Drakkar and Sesenek. Grenkat and Drakkar are not Starfleet officers but civilians. It was not clear why they chose to serve on board this ship. Sesenek is a different sort all together. He is Vulcan but something was bothering him- he was actually drunk and not repressing emotional displays. Another officer, T'Char, was similarly drunk and emotional. I suspect that I have a lot to learn about my shipmates and how to best work with them.
