Personal History		James Tyler Fox was born in Portland, Maine on December 7th, 2334. His parents were fisherman, and he didn't know many people outside of Portland. His favorite pastime was when he would sit with his father, and perform little dissections with him on the fish and lobsters that they would catch. His parents, working at a sustainable lobster fishery, were excited by his desire to learn and his work ethic. His mother helped him push his career in marine science, pushing for him to study at Harvard. His father thought further outside the box. He thought exploring new life on new planets would excite James better than more of the same. His mother won the discussions, and he began studying at MIT. While there, he halped research alongside the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. These years were some of his favorite, working with researchers to uncover the deepest depths of the ocean. For the first time James met people from places he had only heard about or seen in videos. One of these people was the son of a Starfleet Officer. From this friend, he heard all he needed to about Starfleet. He wrote to his parents about this, and after much persuasion, his father convinced his mother to let him transfer to Starfleet Academy after 2 years at Harvard. At Starfleet Academy he studied Marine Biology, Botany, Zoology, and Toxicology. He most enjoyed doing co-research projects with the research institute set up by Dr. Taylor. He graduated from Starfleet Academy in summer of 2358. His parents attended the ceremony, and his mother had finally come around and was just as enthusiastic about his new Starfleet career as his father was.
Service Record		He graduated from Starfleet Academy an Ensign assigned to the U.S.S. Cork. He worked well there, but there was a lack of upward mobility on the vessel. He was transferred to the U.S.S. Boston along with a recommendation for promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
