Personality & Traits
General Overview | Elise trends toward friendliness and kindness in her manner, with the well established Federation values she was raised on guiding her to be open-minded and tolerant. This perhaps unsurprisingly means Elise is slow to anger and quick to forgive.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Bearing no small amount of pride in both Starfleet and the Federation itself, Elise's adherence to and promotion of both can readily come across as arrogant. As well, the desire to prove herself to both institutions will frequently take priority over all other things in her life.
Ambitions | Though once narrow-mindedly in pursuit of her own ship and the rank of Captain, Elise's (mis)adventures through deep space have turned her toward a path that might instead result in the title of Ambassador.
Hobbies & Interests | Hiking the countryside and taking small boats out to sea and down rivers were among Elise's favourite childhood pastimes. It takes little convincing to get her to go someplace new or to immerse herself in the local culture. |
Personal History | Elise was born in the town of Saint-Malo, in the northwestern region of France. Deep in the heart of the Federation on the planet Earth was her quiet and peaceful home where she would want for almost nothing and be free to pursue life. Elise's family was tight-knit and close as was the community that she grew up in. Despite minimal interactions with him and mostly speaking over long distance communications, Elise idolized her father. But because he was frequently away on duty with Starfleet, she was mainly raised by her mother alongside her two older brothers. So great was her father's influence that all three of his children eventually declared that they would follow in his footsteps. Though they were not just his footsteps the children would be following in. Elise thus began preparing herself mentally and physically for the challenge ahead from a young age. Many of her chances to enjoy her youth slipped away as she sacrificed friendships and experiences for grades and exams. But these losses were not always in vain as generally her diligence would pay off and she seldom failed to achieve an academic goal. Furthermore during this time, in several aptitude tests, she had curiously proven herself to be an adept gunner and proficient with targeting and aiming. The road to Starfleet was looking bright, if lonely. New challenges came with the day that she could enroll in Starfleet Academy. Being away from home and having to speak different languages primarily for the first time was difficult and made for some sleepless nights. As well, what few friends she made were far more adventurous than what she was used to. But the ever-persistent Elise scrapped her way through the Academy trials much as she had everything before then. Taking every route to get ahead, every avenue for advancement and every extra credit project she was offered. Even a cadet cruise upon a sorely aging vessel was in store: the U.S.S. Triton. But after some initial stumbles she forged on to graduate with outstanding grades. And after one final, tense waiting period, Elise was elated to be called up to serve on board the U.S.S. Boston: her first ever assignment. |
