Personal History

Born in 2324, Jaya Raj was raised on the U.S.S. Artemis. The Artemis was an Excelsior class starship and was mainly an exploration vessel. Her mother was the Chief Engineer and her father was in security. Despite this, as she grew older her interests turned more towards science. Her mother managed to get one of the science officers to personally tutor her once her interests were made clear. When she was old enough she attended Starfleet Academy, and studied mainly in the Physics and Chemistry fields. Part of the class of 2345, she served on many starships until the Cardassian War began. When it began, she went to command school on the recommendation of her captain as she saw it as her duty to protect the Federation. Throughout the Cardassian War she served well, leading to her promotion to Commander.
