Personality & Traits
General Overview | A career scientist; T'Prin has dedicated her life to the understanding and advancement of Subspace Mechanics. She is logical and methodical to a tee with an attitude that can oftentimes appear to be arrogant and superior, and while she holds her work and integrity to a very high standard, she holds the wellbeing of those around her above all else... even if she can be remiss to show it. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Her biggest strengths are both her biggest weakness; He stubbornness and pride, though she wouldn't label them as such. T'Prim oftentimes believes that her theories are without fault or flaw until proven otherwise, and may even still believe herself correct in some manner of thinking even when she is. This often leads her doggedly committed to her work and will not rest until she has completed it to the highest standard, even beyond what would be otherwise expected. |
|
Ambitions | Her ambition is mostly defined by her desire to advance the sciences, for the betterment of the Federation. She has committed her life to science and with her expertise in Subspace Theory, she hopes to develop new technologies to be used on starships to better scanning and communication within Starfleet. | |
Hobbies & Interests | For T'Prim, her hobbies include learning about fields in science beyond the ones she formally trained in. A little light reading on Beam technology here, reading reports on spacial phenomena there... she would never claim herself to be an expert but for her, learning is its own reward and she is more than happy to spend even her off-hours surrounded by a mountain of PADDs on the latest scientific news. Of course, this still doesn't prevent her from being roped into the latest holonovel by those around her. |
Personal History | Born to her Vulcan parents on Boston, Earth in 2279 and betrothed to her husband Sultok as soon as they both reached maturity; T'Prim has spent the majority of her life committed to the sciences, enrolling into the Boston Ministry of Science by the age of 16, before continuing on to Starfleet academy at 22, earning herself a place studying at the Vulcan Science Institute at age 29. For 25 years, T'Prim would learn and lecture at the VSI, advancing the field of Subspace Theory through her study and work, publishing her findings and research in the hopes of advancing starship communication and scanning capabilities. During this time, T'Prim would take an extended leave from both Starfleet and the Vulcan Science Institute; 10 years dedicated to raising her two children T'Pai and Sildulk. It wasn't until she returned from her maternal leave, where she would begin to take her work out of the realms of theory to be practically implemented, would T'Prim receive her first Starfleet commission aboard the Federation Starbase S3N94. Promoted to Lieutenant Jr. Grade, her role was to help advise the development of new technologies based on her work, though she often took a more active role in leading the project than some of the senior members of staff on the project. After ten years, and more reassigned science offers than anyone aboard the project would care to admit; T'Prim's subspace theories began to bear true advancement, leading her to put forward a transfer request to the USS Boston as Chief Science Officer to both lend her expertise to the ship, and try to begin testing and implementing the fruits of a life of research. |
